Rumors are swirling that Meghan Markle is poised for a major return to Instagram, with one expert suggesting she could surpass Kate Middleton in popularity.
After facing some challenging months, it seems the Duchess of Sussex might be on the verge of a positive turnaround. There’s increasing speculation that Meghan will not only return to Instagram but also revive her beloved blog, The Tig. A public relations specialist has even predicted that she could outshine her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, in terms of public appeal. Recent surveys indicate that Kate and Prince William currently enjoy significant popularity among the public.
Nonetheless, celebrity publicist Mayah Riaz believes this dynamic is about to shift. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, she stated, “It’s undeniable that when Meghan makes her comeback on Instagram, she will surpass Kate in popularity.”

Mayah noted that it’s likely Kate’s social media is handled by a team. The public relations expert added, “This creates an idealized image that the Royal Family is eager to present.”
Meghan stepped away from the Royal Family three years ago and relocated to the U.S. with her husband, Prince Harry. Mayah mentioned that this gives Meghan the freedom to “share whatever she likes.”
“She won’t need to seek anyone’s approval before posting,” Mayah explained. When asked what we might expect from Meghan’s Instagram, she said, “We can look forward to seeing all facets of Meghan and her family life.”
Mayah believes that Meghan’s Instagram will attract a lot of media coverage. She noted, “Kate’s Instagram posts rarely make the news, but Meghan’s activities on Instagram are bound to create headlines. We can also anticipate announcements about her projects that she’ll share early on her account.”
Recently, Meghan and Harry were spotted enjoying themselves at Beyoncé’s concert in California. Mayah commented, “We’ve seen clips of Meghan dancing at the show and showing affection with Harry. You would never catch Kate and William behaving like that.”
Meghan and Kate’s Instagram accounts are bound to have distinct vibes. It’s interesting to note that even those who aren’t fond of Meghan still choose to follow her on Instagram.
However, she did warn Meghan about the potential for online harassment. “We anticipate that Meghan will indeed be active on Instagram. Once it’s confirmed that @meghan is her official account, she will likely attract a significant following.
“With that influx of followers, I suspect a considerable portion will be negative. We’ve witnessed the level of hostility directed at her on Twitter (X), and sadly, I think that will carry over to Instagram as well.”
