Fans Think Taylor Swift Was ‘Disrespectful’ to Donna Kelce at a Recent Chiefs Game

Pop sensation Taylor Swift stepped out with her footballer beau’s mom to attend the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29. Upon seeing the duo making their way through the venue, netizens noticed something off about Taylor’s interaction with Donna Kelce.

For the sports affair, the “Shake It Off” singer donned a cozy-looking red sweater, black pants, and platform ankle boots.

She accessorized with gold hoop earrings, carried a bright red handbag — which she slung over her shoulder — and adorned her face with eyeliner and red lipstick.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce’s mother sported a long-sleeved black button-down shirt embellished with white balls by the collar and down the sleeves. Donna paired this with leather pants, a red-and-black floral scarf, and white sneakers. She also wore dangling earrings and spectacles.

A video shared online by NFL on Prime Video displayed the pair making their way to the viewing stands through the stadium. The pop star’s father, Scott Swift, was also spotted accompanying the two. Initially, Taylor was seen walking slightly ahead of Donna, who trailed behind.

However, the artist then turned back to check on Donna and slow down, so the footballer’s mom could catch up and walk beside her.

The two then continued walking down a slope as photographers with flashing cameras snapped pictures of them. Online viewers who saw media of Donna and Taylor took to comment sections to express their disdain regarding Taylor’s movement as she made her way through the stadium.

“Would be nice if she showed respect and walked beside Mrs. Kelce, instead of in front of her,” opined a Facebooker.

Another echoed, “I couldn’t care about this at all but one thing I will say is that it’s terrible that she’s walking in front of his mom instead of next to her or even behind her. I don’t care how famous or talented she is, she has no cooth [sic]. 🤷‍♀️.”

Agreeing with the sentiment, someone else chimed in with, “Aren’t the younger supposed to walk behind their elders??? I always allow my parents to enter first and not because they are 90 but it’s respectful. Guess she can’t put her ego aside for her boyfriend’s mom!?? Class less [sic].”

“She should learn some manners. She should be walking with Mrs Kelce not in front of her. Very disrespectful [sic],” added another upset social media user. Sharing a different perspective, a netizen observed, “It looks like Taylor doesn’t want to walk with Mama Kelce.”

More disapproving comments ensued, with yet another Facebooker asserting, “How dare her have his mother walk behind her…oh I forgot she’s a celebrity [sic].”

On the other hand, however, some people gave Taylor credit for turning around to check on Donna. “I love how she waits for Donna,” noted a fan. Another praised, “Love how she turned around to make sure Mama Kelce was ok.”

While Donna was at the “Grotesquerie” premiere in September, she shared some words about spending time with the “Lover” artist and their relationship.

Responding to the E! News interviewer’s question regarding what her favorite quality about Taylor is, Donna divulged, “It’s still new. I don’t really have any profound, you know, thoughts or anything like that.”

However, she went on to say, “We just have the best time, you know, cheering Travis on.” Catching up with a different media outlet at the same premiere of the series her son stars in, Donna told Page Six that she finds Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift “kind of interesting.”

She then disclosed, “He’s a good guy. He really is. He’s good. He’s kind. He’s generous. And from what I understand, so is she.” Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the same event, Donna also shared some details about her friendship with Taylor’s mom, Andrea Swift.

“You know, it’s very — it’s still really, really new, and I really appreciate it. Wonderful people, very down to earth, very Mid-Western, just like, you know, Ohio. Ohio and Pennsylvania are right next to each other, so we kind of understand each other. So it’s really kinda nice. It feels like home,” expressed Donna.

While her relationship with the Swift family is still growing, Donna Kelce and her son’s girlfriend are in good standing with each other, regardless of how the optics of their game entrance may have appeared.

Aside from the online chatter concerning Taylor’s disposition, netizens also took the time to comment on what she and Donna chose to wear.

The mom explained, “They’re, you know, stylish in the front, but there’s a party in the back because they’re just regular cloth. Leather pants get really hot. So you need the back of your leather pants to be cloth so that you can air things out.” She added that the pants, which are “really fun,” were very comfortable to sit in. “You don’t get hot […] it’s just nice,” Donna said.

While at the game, Donna also promoted “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” which premiered on November 30. She urged people to watch the Hallmark Channel holiday movie, in which she stars. The film showcases the unifying power of love and sports, with a touch of holiday cheer.

Travis’ mom also shared that one of the scenes in the movie shows her wearing a Kansas City Chiefs jersey, which Travis signed “Love you, Mommy!” Additionally, she recounted the loving bond between her and Travis, noting that her son always calls her mommy.
