Eminem once revealed that he shared joint custody of his then-underage daughter, Hailie Jade, with his ex-wife. Hailie is now an adult, married, and expecting her first child. When she posted a swimsuit photo of herself in the past, netizens rushed to criticize her.

Eminem Is Proud of His Married Daughter

During an appearance on the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast in 2020, Eminem revealed that Hailie Jade was 23 years old at the time. He confirmed that she had a boyfriend but was not yet a mother. The star said she was doing well and expressed pride in her.

She had also graduated from college. Besides Hailie, the star helped raise his niece, who was 26 at the time, and had another younger child who was 17.

Out of all his accomplishments, the thing he was most proud of was his ability and fortune to raise children.

Because his children didn’t struggle as much as he did, Eminem stated, “It’s definitely important to keep your kids grounded when there’s a situation like we have.” Hailie, now 28 after celebrating her birthday in December 2023, finally took a big step with her boyfriend.

Taking to Instagram in February 2023, Eminem’s daughter posted several images showing her engagement to her boyfriend, Evan McClintock.

Her fiancé was seen kneeling on one knee to propose, and the couple celebrated with a beverage.

Hailie revealed that the proposal happened on February 4, 2023. Taking to Instagram again on May 20, 2024, she uploaded a few photos of her wedding day, revealing that the ceremony took place the week before.

Many happy tears were shed at her wedding as people smiled, laughed, and felt lots of love during the beautiful weekend celebration.

She added, “Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife 🤍.”

In early October 2024, Hailie’s father released the official music video for his song, “Temporary.”

The clip showed him seeing his daughter at her wedding for the first time.

He appeared emotional, wearing sunglasses and covering his mouth before hugging her.

Eminem looked as if he was crying and even removed his sunglasses to get a better look at his daughter.

Fans were touched by the rapper’s reaction, with one person commenting, “Seeing Eminem crying is the most human thing I’ve ever seen.”

On October 3, 2024, Hailie shared three images of her pregnancy announcement. She was photographed seated on a kitchen counter as her husband stood in front of her. The couple hugged and looked deeply into each other’s eyes while holding the baby’s sonogram.

Hailie captioned the post, “mom & dad est. 2025 🤍.” In the same music video mentioned above, fans got to witness the emotional moment when Hailie surprised her father with her pregnancy news.

The artist was seen seated on a porch before his daughter joined him and handed over a blue T-shirt. When he unfolded it, the shirt read “Grandpa 1.”

His jaw dropped when he saw the sonogram, and he turned it around to show the camera.

In 2020, Hailie uploaded an Instagram picture of herself wearing a white swimsuit with a light blue bucket hat.

The image was a mirror selfie taken in a bathroom. She captioned the post, “ready for allllll the summer days 🌼.”

Some people who saw the photo didn’t quite approve, with one person claiming, “your father gonna kill u,” while another asked, “Does your father know about this?”

Judging her swimsuit, another netizen said, “That looks like old lady underwear…”

What Kind of Upbringing Did Hailie Have?

In 1997, Eminem struggled to make ends meet before signing a recording deal with Interscope.

He, his now ex-wife, Kim Scott, and their baby daughter lived in unsafe neighborhoods where people used illegal substances.

Things were so bad that, at one point, while Kim was washing dishes, a stray bullet flew in through the kitchen window and lodged itself in the wall.

Hailie’s mother confessed that the neighborhoods they lived in “sucked.”

Over two years, she had four televisions and five VCRs stolen due to high theft in the area.

One time, the man who stole their first set of televisions, VCRs, and a clock radio returned that night to make himself a sandwich!

Eminem recalled that the thief left the peanut butter, jelly, and everything right there and didn’t steal them.

When they thought it was over, the thief returned and stole everything except the beds and couches.

By the time Hailie was five, her father was trying to save up every penny for her college fund.

Then 31, the artist confessed, “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie . . . the money — it’s for her college.”

At that point, he and Kim were estranged and trying to work toward a divorce settlement.

Back then, he would sing about killing his child’s mother but explained he never meant it and told Hailie he wasn’t serious.

Later, Eminem got joint custody with Kim, but Hailie spent most of her time with him.

During a 2004 interview, the rapper revealed that his ex-wife was in and out of jail and on house arrest the previous year.

Another thing she did with her father was attend the Detroit Pistons basketball games, where they would always eat hot dogs. Eminem’s daughter admitted to having good memories while attending elementary school.

In middle school, things changed for Hailie, and she began taking her studies very seriously. High school was the same, but unlike other teenagers, she didn’t drink alcohol or attend parties and was naive to that lifestyle.

She recalled attending her first and last high school football game in the freezing cold. All the other students were screaming and having a great time, and she couldn’t understand what she was missing.

A friend came up to her and spoke right in her face, and that’s when she realized the other children were drinking. Hailie was so appalled that she decided to leave right then and there, refusing to be associated with anyone who was drinking to avoid getting in trouble.
